In response, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recently released a 2012 update to standard 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace ®, in order to address these and other industry developments. The continuing modernization of industrial/manufacturing facilities, including significant upgrades to electrical systems, present considerable shock and arc flash hazard exposures to workers.
